PPILOW’s People: Anne Collin-Chenot!
I am a senior researcher at INRAE, the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment, in the Avian Biology and Poultry Science Unit (BOA) coordinating the PPILOW project.
My research topic deals with the impacts of early life management on the later welfare, physiology and health of chickens, and on the quality of their meat. In PPILOW, besides handling the PPILOW project coordination including its compliance with ethics requirements, I am involved in the multi-actor approach co-creating within the French Practitioner Group innovations that ensure welfare, health and robustness in outdoor and organic poultry farms. I am also collaborating to the evaluation of dual-purpose breeds as means to avoid the killing of day-old layer male chicks.
