2022
- SlowFood: During the international Terra Madre/Salone del Gusto event organized by Slow Food in Turin, from 22 to 26 September 2022, an Educational space “Education Garden” was created; the space included graphics, images, texts, projection of video of the PPILOW project (in Italian and English). Visitors could learn, with the help of some educators involved, about the characteristics of a poultry farm that respects animal welfare (according to One Welfare principles), learn about the existence of PPILOW apps to evaluate aw, understand the value of poultry biodiversity. The aim was to stimulate visitors to review their meat consumption, reducing it, and modify their purchasing choices to encourage them to consume meat and eggs from organic, free-range, more sustainable and animal-friendly farms. A dossier with in-depth content was subsequently uploaded online in the PPILOW space on the slow food website. Moreover, during Terra Madre event (22 September 2022), the conference “Pigs and poultry: how can we improve their welfare?” with other partners was held to illustrate the steps of the project.
