Great success for the webinar on non-castrated male pigs in France!
On the 11th of March, a webinar on rearing non-castrated male pigs and valorizing the meat from boar-tainted carcasses was organized in France in collaboration with the European project PPILOW and the French project FARINELLI.

Helen Pluschke received the prize for pioneering research for her PPILOW-Poster on dual-purpose poultry presented at the 17th Scientific Conference on Organic Farming in Giessen, Germany.

Bioland is the biggest organic farming association in Germany. Founded in the 1970`s, it has nearly 8.700 members and 1.400 partners in production, trade and gastronomy.
PPILOW – Eurogroup for Animals meeting
The PPILOW consortium was proactive to facilitate the transfer of scientific-based knowledge to NGOs through a specific online meeting held on the 22nd of February in the afternoon.

To transfer the knowledge gained and solutions found within the PPILOW project, a seminar will be organized about the studies performed on early life strategies and management in laying hens and slow-growing broilers to improve animal health, welfare and resilience.

The European Federation of Animal Science (the PPILOW partner EAAP) organized in late August and early September in Lyon (France) its annual meeting with a particular session (#62) dedicated to PPILOW topic “Poultry and pig Low-input and organic production system’s welfare”.
